-Professor Gabe Hansell

Professor Branden

Professor Branden holds the rank of 1st degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Branden began training in 2008 with his first jiu jitsu instructor being Joao Crus , after a short time found his home under Sean cooper for the next 5 or 6 years earning his purple belt. Spending 5 years at the rank of purple, in 2017 received his brown belt under professor Jason Claunch. On August 25 , 2019 finally earned his purple belt after 11 years. Now after 16 years is a 1st degree black belt.

Branden’s Jiu Jitsu game is one of focusing on fundamentals and lulling his opponent into traps from seemingly non advantageous positions. This style proves to be a more passive aggressive approach to the art, giving you the opportunity to pick and choose the times to turn up the aggression when needed.

Professor Branden’s teaching style is more progressive based with each class building off the previous classes move and after multiple sessions it looks like one rolling session rolled in to multiple classes.

“I love the art and watching people grow into their own grappler.”

-Professor Branden

As a total BJJ newbie, I have to say that starting training at RGRR this last month has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time! The atmosphere is nothing short of incredible, and it’s all thanks to the fantastic crew running the show here. Whether you’re rolling with a seasoned vet or another rookie like me, the vibes are always positive, supportive, and just plain fun. Honestly can't get enough of the time I spend on these mats with such an awesome community. If you're even mildly interested in martial arts or self-development, I'd highly recommend!

I've been a student at Renzo Gracie Round Rock for about 4 months now. I am absolutely loving it so far. I normally go to the bjj fundamentals class with instructor Cam a couple of times a week. She is an amazing teacher with a great sense of humor. She does a really good job watching each student individually and offering feedback. Class is always fun and we always have good vibes.

I've been impressed with how welcoming and helpful everyone is here. It's such a great community and I'm making some great friends along the way. I was an absolute beginner when I started this, and was intimidated to get started. All of my fear about being a new student quickly dissolved though once I got going. This is a great place to train. I highly recommend the fundamentals classes with Cam. She is the best!

I joined the gym recently and I'm very happy with my decision. I was anxious about joining a BJJ gym at an older age with zero experience. However, everyone at the gym has been super helpful and the instructors (Professors) have been top notch. I go to their NoGi classes and it's been a blast.
